The Cleaning Show 2009 Exceeds Expectations!
As the 2009 Cleaning Show drew to a close yesterday, the words on everyone’s lips were "Exceeded Expectations!" Despite the current economic gloom, the show which was held at the NEC, Birmingham from 10-12 March 2009, saw some 8,000 visitors through its doors.
Show organisers, BCCE Ltd, a company jointly owned by the British Cleaning Council and Quartz Publishing & Exhibitions Ltd were delighted with this year’s attendance figures. Martin Scott, event director, said,"This show far exceeded our own high expectations, with not only quantity, but quality too! The show had a real buzz about it and staging the event in one large hall, enabled visitors to see the entire show.
However the key to the success of an exhibition is not just the quantity of visitors but also their quality in terms of decision-making or ability to influence decisions concerning the purchase of cleaning machines, tools and services. Many exhibitors were quick to praise the event including Mike Eggerton of Host Von Schrader who said, "We have taken significantly more sales leads than at previous shows, in addition, we have taken orders for machines there and then on the stand which doesn’t happen very often!" Richard Johnson, Cleanfix expressed similar sentiments commenting; "We have had a fantastic show, we have exceeded our targets and are delighted with the quality of sales leads, the show has been far better than we ever expected!"

Dan Skeates, Nilfisk Adance commented; "We have been inundated the entire show and haven’t stopped, the visitor numbers and quality have been top!" Julie Roberts, Chemspec Europe Ltd said; "Absolutely fantastic! We expected the show to be quiet given the current climate, but we had both European & English visitors to our stand. The stand was busier than it was two years ago, giving us potentially new end users & distributors. There was a good buzzy atmosphere throughout the whole show!"
Paul Michael ,Managing Director of BCCE Ltd & Quartz said" The Cleaning Show has exceeded even our high hopes, we spent more money on visitor marketing than at previous shows and it is good to see that the visitors have responded in their attendance. From the comments of exhibitors and visitors alike you would not think there is a recession. The Cleaning Show had a happy and industrious buzz about it and has set the scene for the industry going forward, so much so that we have already taken many booking for the next show, which will be at the NEC from 1st – 3rd March 2011."
